Chase Freedom Unlimited

I am not a fan of credit cards - however, I do like having one for emergencies.

We received an offer for a Chase card for 0% Intro APR for 15 months from the time you open the account.  No Annual fee! Plus you get 1.5% cash back on every purchase!

After the intro period, a variable APR of 16.49% - 25.24%.

I should have known better because of the luck we have but guess what, our hot water heater took a dump and we had to get a new one.  Yep - a little  over $500....thank goodness we had this card.

Fast forward to a few weeks later when I went to pay on the bill which was a little over the $500, the strangest thing was they actually were awarding me points that were equal to over $200 to either pay on the card or get cash back!!!

I applied that stuff right to the card. What a relief, especially during this season.

I have put a link below for the Chase Freedom Unlimited. I can be rewarded and earn more if you apply and qualify.

New Shoes and Wealth Wednesday

Have you ever heard of “Wealth Wednesday”? It is a term that I personally heard the first time from Ray Higdon (rayhigdon.com). He and his wife, Jessica, help inspire entrepreneurs to play bigger and make a positive impact on others. In one of their groups they offer a Facebook live every day and on Wednesdays there is a reminder that it is “Wealth Wednesday” and are firm believers if you give, you will receive. If that means you pay for the person behind you in the drive through or slide money in a box of diapers on the shelf, then do it. No one needs to know what you did, because no matter how small, you have the ability to make a difference in the life of someone else, just by giving.

This past Wednesday I was reminded how much little things we take for granted and how those small things could impact the life of a child. My granddaughter goes to a local elementary school. In the school year 2018-19, there were 329 students attending the school. Of those students, 86% were eligible for free or reduced breakfast and lunch. A local member of our community (anonymously) purchased every child in the school a new pair of shoes. Can you imagine the smiles that a pair of sketchers brought to those children? When I messaged Ray about this, he said that not only was that awesome, but what a blessing! I am sure the parents and the children are all grateful! And yes, they began putting the shoes on the children on Wednesday, Wealth Wednesday!

I would love to see the face of the donor when they receive all of the thank you notes from the children and parents.

Jamey Richardson

December 4, 1963 - August 20, 2017

Jamey was not only a great friend but one of the crazies, loving, family members that we have been lucky to have. We were proud to have Jamey for a nephew.   He was always the same, a smile on his face, cutting up, acting a fool, but more importantly, loving his children, Justin and Brittany, with all of his heart. When you think he could love no more, those 5 grandbabies became the light of his life. Jamey may have been a little crazy but beneath all of that, his heart was bigger than anyone ever realized.
If you talk to anyone about drywall, Jamey's name would always come up.  He must have been good at his job because everyone talked about how good his work was. Jamey never met a stranger.  He was a friend to all!
No matter what demons he was fighting, he was always willing to lend a hand to his friends.  I don't think I know anyone who had as many friends as he has.  I am sure during the next few days many of us will be recalling some of the good times we had with him.
I ask Byo if there was one word that reminded you of Jamey, what would it be.  He said "bear hug". No matter where we were or who was with us, if we ran into Jamey, we got the biggest bear hug in the world! I don't mean a hug, I really mean an honest to goodness, I love you, bear hug!  Of all the people I know, Jamey gave the best hugs because you knew they came from the heart. The other thing that always made him laugh was shaking hands with Byo.  He would shake his hand, and squeeze the time out of it!  He would laugh in a way that only Jamey could laugh and say "I still got it, old man".
The last time we talked with Jamey, he said he would never forget us.  I know that no matter what, during the rest of our lives, something will happen that reminds us of Jamey and we will talk about him, always cherishing the memories.  He will be missed but never forgotten.  What we wouldn't give to feel that bear hug or hear that laugh of his one more time.
Fly High Jamey!  RIP
